COMPUTER TECHNICIAN I
The Medina County Highway Engineer has a position available for a Computer
The required application (resumes will be accepted with but not in
place of the application) will be accepted no later than 4:30 p.m., Friday
August 25, 2017.
Applications are to be submitted to the Medina County Engineer's Office,
791 W. Smith Road, Medina, Ohio, 44256, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and
4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Entry level position under general supervision of Computer Operations
Supervisor, operates and monitors computers, performs clerical and
technical tasks related to computer operations; performs other related
duties as required.
The duties listed below are intended to illustrate work functions
performed by this classification:
Operates both virtual and traditional workstations;
Performs clerical and technical tasks related to processing of data;
Gathers information for processing of data and distributes output to
Assists in installation of computer hardware, peripheral devices and
Assists with transport and distribution of computer and network equipment;
Writes and modifies simple software applications or customizes existing
Assists in familiarizing office personnel with software and/or hardware
Assists with minor repairs and upgrades to existing computer hardware;
Assists System Administrator with troubleshooting of print devices;
Assists with purchase research, placement and processing;
Assists with software application troubleshooting;
Performs all other related duties as needed.
NECESSARY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
(at time of filing application)
Knowledge of computer operating systems and computer hardware; knowledge
of general software programming techniques; ability to calculate and work
with fractions, decimals, etc; skill in effective oral and written
directions and communications; ability to communicate effectively; ability
to deal with problems involving few variables within familiar context;
ability to complete routine forms; ability to lift up to 65 lbs. of paper
and/or equipment repeatedly, ability to move limbs/fingers easily to
perform manual functions; ability to develop and maintain effective
working relationships with associates, supervisors and the general public.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRABLE FOR EMPLOYMENT
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession
of the skills, knowledge and
abilities listed above; An example of an acceptable qualification for this
High school diploma or equivalent, and at least
three years of experience in office procedures using computers;
possession of a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operatorís license and
proof of insurability under the Medina County Commissionerís requirements.
